LONGEVITY – To use your body when you’re 58 as you did when you were 28, you have to play the long game. We call this aggressive preservation.
Early Days (2009)
It was while studying behavior change and socio-medical studies for a Masters Degree in Public Health at Columbia University, where I came across an interesting statistic- only 15% of people actually go to the gym. At the time I was an educator at the American Academy of Personal Training, a trade school for new personal trainers. With this statistic in mind and that awareness that most diseases can be prevented and managed with exercise, it became my mission to empower a new generation of fitness professionals to be able to function outside the traditional fitness model and reach the 85% of people not being served by the current fitness industry.
With the vision of reaching more people and fostering a new generation of fitness professionals, The L Trainer emerged. We were an educated and dynamic personal training team that delivered fitness directly to our clients in the privacy and comfort of their own homes. We were powered by a body positive, feel good, and structured fitness model built on behavior change theory, exercise science research, and tons of hope and love.
In our early days, many of our clients were based in vibrant Williamsburg, Brooklyn and our name fit the primary line of transportation that took people to and from the neighborhood.
But as we’ve grown and evolved, we have realized all of our core principles were embedded in our name, the letter L. So much of what we stand for is right there in that letter L. Lifeforce, Learning, Love, Longevity.
Our collective is top-notch and at the forefront of innovative holistic health methods. Our work will get you attuned and fluent in your mind, body, and soul so you can be have limitless living and peace within.
